At The Bloc, our philosophy is that training should prepare you for the challenges of LIFE! All people have varied strengths and weaknesses, and our programming is scaled to suit your current fitness levels. At The Bloc you will be part of a new home, a new community and surpass fitness goals you never thought imaginable.

The Bloc is a friendly, community driven gym. We are here for YOU, the member. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable in a training environment that makes you excited to come back every day. Our fully certified and knowledgeable coaches will never push you past your own capabilities and will strive to make you a better, stronger, fitter person.

What we offer

CrossFit

CrossFit training is the core of what we do at The Bloc. Classes are well programmed and professionally coached in small groups to give each individual the attention they may need. All workouts are based on functional movements, reflecting the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, cardio and more. The coach will brief the class on the WOD (Workout of the Day), take you through a warm-up, teach you specific movements and new skills, then watch and coach you through the workout to ensure you're doing it safely and effectively. No two days are the same in CrossFit – so if you're looking to shake up your fitness routine, this is for you!

Personal training

All of our experienced coaches are available for one-hour one-on-one sessions, focusing on building skills, fitness or both.

Nutrition coaching

Training and good nutrition go hand in hand. The Bloc is also home to NutriFYI. While some of our packages offer nutrition coaching, Olivia is always available for personal nutrition coaching, meal plans and weight-loss programs. For more information: nutrifyi.co.za

Recovery

Recover Code is our go-to for recovery when it comes to massage, reflexology and compression with their rooms located inside The Bloc. For more information: recovercode.co.za

Olympic Weightlifting

Head Coach Matt coaches specialised weightlifting classes 4 times a week, focusing on the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. We also offer individualised weightlifting specific programs for both members and non-members should you want to take your lifting to the next level.

Kids classes

We'll help your kids become strong, healthy and resilient through training, as well as teach them the importance of good sportsmanship and being a team player.

HIIT

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training. Torch maximum calories in a minimum amount of time with superstar HIIT trainer Lucky Fadzi, who'll take you through 45 minutes of periods of work that include cardio, plyometrics and some light strength endurance, interspersed with short rest periods. HIIT is perfect for those looking to build fitness, burn maximum calories and increase power output without any of the 'scary' CrossFit stuff!

Biokinetics

Biokinetics is the profession dealing with the maintenance of physical abilities (orthopaedics and chronic diseases), final phase rehabilitations and health promotion, by means of scientifically based physical activity program prescription. Marco is the go to Biokineticist on the West Coast and runs his practice out of The Bloc. For more information: beckerbio.co.za
